THE HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE OF SHRI RAMA'S PRAN PRATISTHA?

The pran pratishta ceremony refers to the consecration or installation of the life force, often believed to be the divine presence or deity, into an idol or deity image in a temple. This particular pran pratishta in Ayodhya is of historic significance as this is the birth place of Shri Rama. After half a millenium, a properly consecrated temple with His divinity re-invoked will now be present for all to worship. Shri Rama will be in his "lalla" form, or that of a young boy.

During Pran Pratishta, elaborate rituals are performed by priests to invite and establish the divine energy within the idol, making it a sacred and revered object of worship.

The process involves chanting of mantras, performing specific rituals, and invoking the presence of the deity. Once Pran Pratishta is completed, the deity is considered to reside in the idol, and the temple becomes a place where devotees can connect with and worship the divine.
